H I S T O R Y

Crime was born into Iggy’s blood. From a young age, Iggy lived in a house where rent was cheap and criminals were abundant. She was surrounded by poverty and drugs, either one the cause of the other. So despite the money and things of monetary value that her parents took throughout her childhood, the money was spent primarily on drugs. Growing up around the majority of this, Iggy became skilled in crime, herself. It was what she was taught by her parents on days they would take her out of school to bring her along on joy rides and getaways from heists. One day, on one of these heists she was brought along to, her parents were caught. They came clean and admitted to three separate armed robberies together and were sentenced to fifteen years to life with bail set at $100,000 each. Iggy was placed in a care home where she was never allowed to visit her parents as ruled by the CPS. It was then that she developed a liking for fire, one delinquent kid always having a lighter on him. When she was eighteen and released from the foster home, she robbed a liquor store and came out with nearly $300. Since then, she’s been committing small robberies and planning for heists with her three friends and saving up her earnings to get her parents out of jail. With her, she keeps several fake I.D.s and the appropriate tools for her robberies. She found the Linden house by house hunting and never meeting the landlord was sketchy, but seemed to work out perfectly for her.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Iggy is very reserved and quiet. She tends not to speak unless spoken to, but when she does speak, she’s got a sarcastic twang to her words. Iggy does extremely well under stress, manging to almost always remain calm and not let her emotions get in the way of things. Despite that her emotions are somewhat stunted, she very well has a range like most humans but is simply in better control of them. The only exception seems to be her anger: if prompted even a little bit, Iggy can explode. Her self-initiated training in combat makes her dangerous to be around when angered and these two together have created regrettable situations. All of her secrets, she keeps locked inside to eat at her. Iggy’s morals are very loose and misfitted when applied to her, the only morals to ever bother her being murder (though, ironically enough, she has no problems with other people murdering). She doesn’t like to involve herself in other’s people’s business, but if she thinks someone needs help or someone asks, she’s loyal to those who she trusts and will do nearly anything to help. She doesn’t have a generally addictive personality, but smokes like a chimney and is a binge-drinker. Because of her mental priorities, Iggy doesn’t take very good care of herself. She overexerts herself and thinks of sleep and eating as secondary necessities. It’s not dangerous to her health in the short term, but either terms, she doesn’t care.

JASON KEALOHA || APPEARS 26 || GHOST || KEAHU KAHUANUI || TAKEN

I didn’t see Rent until after I died, but let me tell you, literally no one was ever brought back to life by the power of rock.

H I S T O R Y

Born in Honolulu in 1962, Jason grew up in a home that was as genuinely loving as it was traditional. On one hand, his father was a native Hawaiian, and despite the sudden modernization and burgeoning tourism industry which came along with new statehood, the old man was very much rooted in the indigenous culture. Jason’s mother, on the other hand, was a white woman from New Jersey. And in 1961, she and her brother opened a moderately successful hotel on the island. While Jason’s uncle eventually traveled back home, his mother wed a local and had three children, the oldest of whom was Jason.

As he aged, the young man found himself caught between two equally demanding worlds. Naturally, he could not neglect the practices of his father’s Polynesian ancestors. On the other hand his mother, as trendy as she fancied herself, was also a devout Christian with her own ideas about how a young boy ought to be raised. All the same, Jason generally succeeded in his endeavors. Involved actively in theater and the arts, he developed a love for dance at a young age. Ballet, Tap, Hula—he has a knack for all of it.

When Jason was seventeen years old, however, he entered a secret romantic relationship with a male classmate. For three years, the pair saved up for plane tickets to New York City with the intent of running off to “be artists” in the blossoming cultural hub. They arrived and ended up living in Alphabet City for a year before things fell apart. Depressed and penniless, Jason turned to drugs and casual sex for relief. After contracting HIV/AIDS, he died alone in the winter of 1988. His parents and siblings never knew what became of him.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

At his very core, Jason is a genuinely good human being, and in all that he does, he strives to be compassionate, friendly, and open to new ideas and opinions. All the same, there is a sort of heaviness to him as well. Something like shame or remorse clings to his person, but if it ever surfaces, he is more than likely to try to jump to humor as a defense mechanism. No pushover, however, he won’t hesitate to bite back at those who cross him. Nevertheless, he does prefer to avoid conflict whenever possible.  Because Jason has found a strange sort of peace in death. Pain and sickness have vanished, but at the same time, his un-mourned demise has left him bound to this Earth. After wandering the dismal streets of New York for years, he found his way to Linden House. And delighted that someone could lay eyes on him for the first time in over a decade, he decided to stay.
